Martin Fröst - Mozart: Ecstasy & Abyss (2CD)

"Martin Fröst's new double album is dedicated to the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. He can be heard here for the first time as a conductor - with the Swedish Chamber Orchestra, of which he is the musical director. The programme includes late works by Mozart, which were written at particularly precarious moments for the composer personally - and which, despite this, are evidently of exquisite intensity and beauty. Martin Fröst can be heard with his third recording of the Clarinet Concerto in A major, KV 622, which he plays on the basset clarinet as composed by Mozart.
